Tax professionals facing another season of regulatory change, complex client questions and evolving practice demands will gather Nov. 16-17 for the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA) 2026 Tax Conference. The event will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center with a livestream option for virtual attendees.
The two-day conference features 30 sessions addressing federal tax developments, Minnesota tax issues, nexus, K-1s, tax-efficient investing and other topics affecting CPAs and the clients and organizations they serve.
“Tax professionals need more than an understanding of what has changed. They need to know how those changes affect their clients, organizations and planning decisions,” said Lynn Kletscher, MNCPA director of content and learning strategy. “The Tax Conference brings together experts who can help CPAs make sense of the issues that matter as they prepare for the year ahead.”
Among the conference’s noteworthy speakers are nationally recognized tax educators Greg White and George Koutelieris, who will lead sessions about federal business tax developments, federal individual tax developments and small-business retirement plans.
Minnesota tax policy and administration will also take center stage. Paul Marquart, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Revenue, will participate in a fireside chat with MNCPA Government Relations Director Geno Fragnito. Fragnito will also join MNCPA President and CEO Linda Wedul for a Minnesota legislative and professional update.
Other sessions will address practical issues confronting CPAs and tax advisers, including partnership and pass-through entity taxation, state tax nexus, qualified small business stock, estate and financial planning, and IRS representation. The conference will also explore broader issues affecting the profession, including technology, ethics and firm management.
Joseph Mahon of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis will provide an economic outlook, examining conditions in Minnesota and across the United States.
The conference opens with Root, an author, entrepreneur and accounting profession leader, and John Mitchell, a business owner and motivator. Their keynote, “Quieting the Noise: Four Simple Choices to Live and Work On Purpose,” focuses on workplace culture and purpose-driven firms.
For professionals earlier in their tax careers, MNCPA is offering its Young Professionals Track alongside the main conference. The track features hands-on, case-study-focused sessions designed for professionals with three to five years of tax experience.
The MNCPA Tax Conference takes place Nov. 16-17 at the Minneapolis Convention Center and via livestream.
